Editorial Policy

The rules we apply to every category page, every company profile, and every ranking decision. This policy is what makes the directory worth trusting.

How rankings are created

Companies are ranked by the verification scorecard described on the How We Verify Companies page. Inputs are objective and reproducible: years in operation, services covered against the category, team size relative to typical project scope, published portfolio depth, independent review presence, case study quality, and pricing clarity. We do not rank by traffic, by ad spend, or by relationship with the company.

How updates are handled

Each category page is reviewed quarterly at minimum. When a company changes name, ownership, headquarters, leadership, or stated services, we update the profile at the next review cycle or sooner if the change is flagged to us. The Last Verified date on every category page reflects the most recent full audit. Significant ranking changes are not retroactively hidden.

How companies request corrections

Companies can request a correction by emailing editorial@verified-companies.com or using the Submit a Company form. We require the specific page URL and the specific field that needs to change, with a public source for the corrected value. We do not accept private claims that cannot be independently verified. Corrections do not raise or lower ranking.

How sponsored content is labeled

There is no sponsored content on this directory. There are no paid placements, no paid badges, no priority listings, and no affiliate links woven into rankings. If this ever changes, every sponsored item will be visibly labeled Sponsored at the top of the block, separated from the editorial list, and excluded from any ranked position. As of this writing, zero placements on the site are sponsored.

Why rankings cannot be bought

The product of this site is trust. A directory that sells ranking has nothing to offer a buyer who could just check Clutch directly. We turn down placement payments because accepting them would collapse the reason anyone visits.

How conflict of interest is handled

The site is run editorially. Where any editor has a prior relationship with a listed company, that company is reviewed by a second editor and the relationship is noted internally. Where a company directly funds the operations of this site through any channel, it is barred from appearing in editorial rankings.

How review links are checked

We verify that linked review profiles on Clutch, GoodFirms, G2, Sortlist, Google Business, and similar platforms are live, owned by the listed company, and not impersonation profiles. We do not display review counts or star ratings inline because those numbers change. We send buyers directly to the source.

How disputes are resolved

If a company disputes a ranking or a fact on its profile, we ask for the corrected information with a public source. If we cannot verify the dispute, the listing stays as is and we record the dispute in our internal log. We do not engage in private settlements that alter rankings.

Use of AI in writing

Drafts may be assisted by AI tooling for structure, but every published fact about every company is checked against the source by a human editor before it goes live. We do not publish AI-generated review text, AI-generated quotes attributed to clients, or AI-fabricated statistics. If a fact cannot be traced to a public source, it is removed.
